Accepting resume’s for Urban Forest Restoration crew

July 25, 2018

Garden Cycles is accepting applications for field crew for restoration in urban forests in the greater Seattle area.

The job entails physical work in rough terrain, mostly herbicide applications (we use protective gear), both spraying ivy and cut & treat or lance injection of invasive plants. We need people who have plant ID skills, who know the difference between Himalayan and native blackberries, between English holly and native Tall Oregon Grape, who can spot European hawthorn in the woods. We hone our ID skills as we work, but you need an interest and urgency for eradicating invasive plants and preserving native plants. Workers must be able to push themselves physically, with consistent effort.

We offer flexible-time positions, asking for at least a 3-day per week commitment, specifically this August through October, with winter work more sporadic, dependent on future contracts, and depending on your own initiative to sell and service your own clients under the GC umbrella. E-mail Steve Richmond with a resume or informal summary of your experience: gardencycles@hotmail.com. Or call (206) 650-9807. Steve may be out of the office, so please cc Robert Hayden: rehayden2000@aim.com, (206) 370-4014.
